There are a lot of rumours out there. We are happy to say - voting is easier than you think!

​Busy around Voting Day?

​"Advance voting is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (local time) on the Saturday and Sunday two weeks before General Voting Day, and the Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday before General Voting Day.

All voters can vote at any advance voting place, and all advance voting places are wheelchair accessible." (from http://elections.bc.ca/voting/how-to-vote/)​

Post-secondary Students

Elections BC, the non-partisan office of the provincial legislature, supports democratic engagement of students and aims to encourage participation through a number of initiatives.

As a student, you can register and vote either in the electoral district where you go to school or the in the district where you normally live.

Not around on General Voting Day? Vote by mail!

It is easy, safe, secure and a great way to excercise your democratic rights whiles travelling. 

​

"Voters can ask for a vote by mail package from before an election is called until 4 p.m. on General Voting Day. Request a vote by mail package for the 2017 Provincial General Election here.

The package will be mailed to you or you can pick it up at a district electoral office.

The completed package must be returned to the district electoral office by 8 p.m. on General Voting Day."

  • You can still register and vote when you go to the polls

  • You can use the Where to Vote card as 1 piece of ID

  • Roughly 4 - 5 minutes to vote

  • Make turning 18 a bigger moment

  • Homeless electors - address needed but work with homeless shelters can use social service agency can register to vote

  • Always have opportunity to register

  • Online voting is an online question

  • More technology introduced in process but not necessarily in voting
